Collectively Encoded Rydberg Qubit

We demonstrate a collectively encoded qubit based on single Rydberg excitation stored in an ensemble of $N$ entangled atoms. Qubit rotations are performed by applying microwave fields that drive excitations between states. Coherent readout is mapping the into photon. Ramsey interferometry used to probe coherence qubit, as well test robustness external perturbations. show preserved even we lose atoms from polariton mode, preserving fringe visibility. dephasing due electric field noise scales fourth power amplitude. These results robust quantum information processing can be achieved via collective encoding using polaritons, and hence this system could provide attractive alternative coding strategy for computation networking.
